Florida Child Care Licensing
Contact Information

The Florida child care licensing contact information page will provide valuable information if you are thinking of starting your own Florida child care business.

Under the Department of Children and Families, the Child Care Licensing Program Office is responsible for the administration of the Florida child care licensing program throughout the state in 61 of the 67 counties. The Child Care Program Office is also responsible for ongoing licensing inspections and technical assistance to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Six counties in Florida have elected to designate a local licensing agency to regulate licensing of child care arrangements. These counties are:

  • Brevard
  • Broward
  • Hillsborough
  • Palm Beach
  • Pinellas
  • Sarasota

The Department currently regulates the following child care settings:

  • Licensed Child Care Facilities
  • Licensed Family Child Care Homes
  • Licensed Large Family Child Care Homes
  • Licensed Specialized Child Care Facilities for the Care of Mildly Ill Children
  • Registered Family Child Care Homes (Registered family child care homes are not licensed, so they are not subject to onsite inspections.)

More resources will be continuously added, so check back often for updates. If you know of a valuable resource that you would like to share, please contact me and I will be sure to add it to the master list.

Once you have established your business, you can advertise on this site. Just fill out the registration form and your information will be available for parents to read about your child care services.
